About Brett Engle

Brett Engle I have always had a passion for photography and started out with my first camera in 1985 while living in Southern California. My family (mother, father, 3 brothers, and 1 sister) moved several times between Salt Lake City, UT and Southern California. At 18 I moved back from California to Utah on my own after losing my father and second oldest brother in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. I joined the Army (Infantry) at age 20 and served for 4 years. While in the Army I was stationed in Germany and Washington State. I was able to visit several places in Germany and Paris France. I was deployed to Bosnia from Germany on December 26th 1995 and spent about a week in both Hungary & Croatia and then was in Bosnia until March 25th 1996. March 25th is my birthday so I was happy to be on my way home after spending a few months in Bosnia. I arrived at Ft. Lewis Washington in April of 1996 and after about 3 months was deployed to Haiti. After spending time in a war torn country and then one of the poorest countries in the world I have really come to appreciate how great it is to be an American and I do not take anything for granted. I got out of the Army in 1997 at the end of my enlistment and am now a Disabled Veteran from a few injuries incurred while serving. I went back to Salt Lake City after getting out of the Army, got married in 1999 to my wonderful wife Leann. I have 2 step son's and in 2000 Leann gave birth to my first son. We lived in Utah until 2005. In October 2005 my family and I moved to Tennessee, which we have called home ever since. As a disabled veteran I have had a lot of health issues and have been on disability a few times for different reasons. As of July 2012 I have been out of work. I want you to know that your purchases here directly support me and my family and I appreciate more than words could ever say. Thank you for your interest in my story and in my work.

Best wishes,

Brett Engle
